Hi, I’m Anjum!

The maker behind Owl Works Studio.

In 2017, my family and I took a leap and began a new chapter in Canada — the place we now proudly call home. My creative journey began years earlier, when I became a mom for the first time. Living in Singapore with limited resources, I spent hours in the playroom with my daughter—crafting, painting, and making toys out of cardboard. When we moved to Canada, I was introduced to wood—and it was love at first cut. I started with simple DIYs at home: planters, a six-foot A-frame bookshelf, a handmade ottoman, calligraphy on canvas, and personalized gifts for neighbors and friends. In 2019, my husband surprised me with a hobby engraving machine. It sat in our basement for six months before I finally tried it—but once I did, I was hooked. Friends and family began requesting custom pieces and encouraged me to list my work online. That small step changed everything. Alhamdulillah, demand quickly grew. A year later, I invested in a CNC router, and in 2023, I took a leap and purchased my first CO₂ laser. That opened up a world of possibilities. I’m completely self-taught and continue to learn every day—driven by a love for meaningful design, craftsmanship, and connection.
